Half way through NYC

It’s crazy to feel that we are already half way through this trip. We’ve already done so much, seen so much, consumed so much. But we also have a whole lot to look forward to between now and when we head south (first to Philly; then to Florida). We have some of our favorite people coming in to join us. We have some upcoming performances and shows that we are very excited to see. We of course, have Thanksgiving here and the Macy’s Day Parade, along with all of the holiday decorations and excitement that happen here.

Since the last post, we’ve gone to The Daily Show, Hadestown (with Allison Russell), more comedy, and several excellent restaurants and bars. We had friends up for the day from Virginia, gone to Mercer Labs, and enjoyed our fill of Sullivan Street Bakery. And, Lord, have we had some world-class pizza. Larry is in heaven.

Our morning walks and evening strolls are a lot chillier than when we first arrived. It’s absolutely fall here now. We’ve really been digging into this neighborhood and trying to get to know the Upper West Side. It’s a fantastic area, bustling with arts, and shops, restaurants, and people. It can feel comparatively quiet in the evenings, but that works for us. Being between Central Park and Riverside, we get great areas to walk, people watch, and dog watch. So many dogs here. It’s no wonder there are several pet-specific businesses within a stone’s throw (fresh dog food, groomers, doggie day cares, etc).

Our next guests arrive shortly, so here is a pile of photos to bring the blog up to speed.
