This is the post where I catch up on the crazy leg of the tour. So when last we met, I was one week in on our two week time in Utah. The second week held some brilliant highlights, but on the day I would normally shoot to do a blog post, we were in the middle of a very quick pivot to the next destinations and carefully threading all the needles that would allow smooth transitions. I would posit that the Crazy Leg of our Nomading tour is actually split in two parts. I am currently sitting in the KLM Lounge in Amsterdam, in that beautiful, bubbly liminal space between the two halves, so it seems a good time to do an update.
Last week in Utah: I went canyoneering and played in some slot canyons and did some hard, fun things! We also dined al fresco, and prepared to leave. Once packed and organized, we swung into a storage facility and dropped off everything we weren’t taking on this leg. We then drove a gorgeous route from St George to Las Vegas to catch our flight to Europe.

Two Days in the Hague:
We were blessed to be able to see Elliot and Alexa for a couple days over the weekend. I was even lucky enough to be given a tour of the OPCW with my sweet son. The time was over too soon, but we are hoping we might get him for a couple weeks in the summer and over Christmas, too if we are lucky!

Two Days in Amsterdam:
The whole reason we were traveling was for Larry’s work. He first had a speaking engagement in Amsterdam. While he worked I occupied myself with visiting old favorite haunts and trying new places recommended by friends.

Two Days in Stockholm:
Larry also had a speaking engagement in Stockholm so we headed over. We truly lucked out on the weather there. On the day we arrived we were able to snag some fika and then wander the old town. I was beyond delighted to find some small paintings by the same artist that painted our ocean scene. The next day I went to fotografiska for some culture. I then met for lunch an Australian friend who I first met in Germany.

Up Next: Two days in Las Vegas and, for Kim, Two days in LA. We then resume our slower, empty nest travel schedule with a month in Montana where Glacier NP and Yellowstone NP are top priority.
