Goodness, but those three months simply flew by, didn’t they? True to my word, I was “home” while here in Barefoot Bay. We both got very comfortable here very quickly, and we resumed all our good habits that keep us healthy, physically and mentally. Eating right, sleeping well, exercising regularly, keeping up with friends and family, puttering around the yard, and trying very hard to enjoy everything that every day presents us. I also began studying Spanish in earnest. It is hard, and I am so slow of thought and self conscious of speech, but I have an excellent teacher and a good attitude!
Our time in Florida has been wonderful. Sure we had some colds and tummy bugs, and my folks got hit recently with a seemingly never ending upper respiratory thing. But we also had amazing holidays, some lovely weather, some great flora and fauna sightings, a great time with the youngest kiddo on break, an awesome time working in a magical flower shop with my bestest friend from kindergarten, fun times at a Chicken Pot Pie Party in the neighborhood, and, of course, side quests to Fort Lauderdale for a quick visit, Orlando for some Butter Beer, Boston for work and to catch the Turnpike Troubadours with our BFFs from up north, and St John’s USVI for a warm glorious week with amazing Maine-iacs. I’ve added some photos to capture some of the last three months.
Tomorrow we are off again. We resume our nomading adventure and head to New Orleans for a month. Stay tuned!
